How do you keep a politician accountable? After the recent election of Naheed Nenshi as mayor of Calgary, I have been thinking about how to hold this dynamic, thoughtful professor-turned-politician accountable for the things that he promised during the campaign.

My best effort so far is the creation of this visualization of his election platform as a transit map. While I’m no David McCandless, I think it would go well on a bulletin board where you could add thumbtacks and pushpins for ‘better ideas’ that are actually realized, or blocked by other members of council, or other levels of government.
